Ellie Jacobs Wiedemeier passed away peacefully on January 2, 2022, after a long and courageous journey with Multiple Sclerosis. She was born in Des Moines, IA on November 2, 1952, the daughter of Samuel and Adeline Jacobs.

Ellie was the younger of two children. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1970 and attended DMACC where she earned her associates degree. Ellie worked for Iowa Workforce Development at the State of Iowa. She gave 17 years of service, retiring due to her declining health with Multiple Sclerosis. Ellie met David the summer of 1985 through mutual friends and they were married on September 25, 1988 in Des Moines. She loved music, singing in various church choirs, and listening to Christian music.

Ellie is survived by her loving husband, David Wiedemeier; brother, Harlan (Linda) Jacobs; and cousin, Susan Gross. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at The Mission Church, 12001 Ridgemont Dr. in Urbandale, where the family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service time. Interment will take place at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.

Memorial contributions will be received by the family for a future designation in memory of Ellie.
