Robbie Adamson

Roberta “Robbie” Smythe Adamson passed away on December 19, 2021, at the age of 68 after a prolonged battle with COPD and complications. She was born to Neil and Louise Adamson in Des Moines, IA. She was a proud native Iowan, graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1971, earning a BA in Graphic Design from Drake University in1975, and running Adamson Appraisal. She had the pleasure of appraising over 10,000 homes in Polk County and surrounding areas helping dreams come true over the past 30 years. Her primary focus was loving her sons: Lucas Adam Henderson and Alex Daniel Henderson, who survive her. She is also survived by her sister Chris Shirk, and bothers Rod and Doug Adamson.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, kayaking on Gray’s Lake, playing Pitch, gardening, performing yoga, decorating for holidays, and talking about NPR and Des Moines. Everyone appreciated her cooked meals and baked treats. She made us all appreciate eating in rather than dining out. She read the Register and completed the crossword puzzle religiously every day. Her ashes will join her mother’s in the Bahamas. A place she loved and had beautiful memories with friends and family. We miss her love for life and loud contagious laugh.
